Hot nights with a 3 month old!

Last night was our first hot night since Logan was born. The bedroom was 28 degrees at 10pm and that was with the window open and the fan on.
Logan was dressed in his sleep suit and the plan was no blanket. But he wouldn't settle he was extremely hot so I put him in his pjama top and nappy and settled him down. He got to sleep like this bit within an hour the room was hotter and he was screaming.
I rocked him to sleep (which made the heat worse) in front of the fan but when putting him down he started screaming again. He's never experienced this so I understand he was scared.
He ended up asleep on my chest and spent the night in my bed. The first half of the night we were both so sweaty but he slept well. This is when I took the blanket off him but then he was unsettled the rest of the night.
5.30 bottle he would not settle back down in the bedroom so we moved downstairs were it's cooler and now he's happy and asleep.
This week is only meant to get hotter. I hope he copes better getting used to it :)

Teething already!

From about 9 weeks old Logan started teething! I wasn't too sure so I was using teething gel as he would refuse a bottle and then would take it again after having teething gel. He can't quite figure out to put teething things in his mouth without pulling a face at how bad they taste! So he's settling for his hand or my shoulder right now. Which is fine. It's definitely worse in the evenings which is unfortunate for his daddy because that's the only time he sees him but tonight Iv tried a bit of calpol and his now lying having a giggle so it's deffinately done the trick!
Hoping it doesn't last too long but I'm deffinately loving the cuddles I'm getting when he doesn't feel very well as he doesn't cuddle much anymore unless he's asleep. He likes to be sat up looking around or playing! He's a character 😊

Baby swimming!

The first time we took Logan swimming was right after his 8 week jabs (the following weekend)
We were only in the pool about 10 minutes as Logan started shivering but he really loves it. We went the weekend just gone at 10 weeks old and we dunked him under and he was so brave! No tears at all. Just tons of smiles and kicking his legs about. He loves to splash 😊 I wish you could take pictures!! I understand why you can't but you should be able to take a photo of your own baby! :( I can't wait to take him to a water park when he's bigger :) more swimming soon after his next jabs!

Babies in the sun!?

What a panic!! Getting Logan ready to walk to the shop instead of going in the car. I thought it would be nice to get out in the sun a bit because I'm constantly panicking about taking him out in this weather!
So I put him in a vest to begin with. Then thought hmmm I'll put shorts on too. Smothered him in sun team (twice!!) and out we went. I put the parasol on the pushchair and tried to cover him up.
I was constantly moving the parasol to make sure he was covered but for the life of me couldn't get it to cover his feet too! Maybe it was too small? He's body and face was covered but i didn't want his legs burnt.
I thought should I put a Muslim cloth over his feet to cover them from the sun or will this make him too hot!?!
He just had a bottle but I thought do I keep offering him milk on our walk invade he gets a bit hot and dehydrated!?

It's so difficult to make sure that everything is right and he is safe!

So I'm off to asda and mother care in a minute to get a bigger parasol that is huge and will cover his whole body.

I also want to see if there's a fan I can attach to his pushchair or if they even do one?

I'll post an update on the parasol I get instead and if it is what I'm looking for. Any advice on there 3 month old in the sun is welcome! Obviously I want him out the sun all together as much as I can but we have a family BBQ coming up and he has seperation issues right now so leaving him somewhere else to chill is going to be near impossible!

Little snap of my man off on his first sunny walk :)

Napping problems!

Logan is now almost 11 weeks and still won't nap alone. He has to be held in a certain position and rocked in a certain way and if you even dare sit down he will let you know that it is not ok! He's a character I'll give him that. This last week I have started trying to put him down when he falls asleep and it has been successful a few times but only in my bed. He doesn't like his cot in the day and hardly ever at night (except this morning waking me up laughing his head off at 5.30am! Little cutie :))) I am going to try really hard with day naps as I want him to be able to put himself to sleep so I can put him down and leave him. Fingers crossed for me and anyone else in this position!

Baby group

I take Logan to baby gurgle and sensory class. Here we begin with songs to do with touching, bouncing, tickling and singing with feathers! Then the babies can either play with sensory toys or go in the sensory room (pictured)
I have been going here since Logan was about 5 weeks old as it gave him chance to get to know other babies. There is one baby who is a couple of weeks older than him but is tiny compared to Logan! We both do baby gurgle then go into the sensory room which is a dark room with neon lights and bubble machines etc for them to look at. Logan used to fall asleep but now he's so active he wants to play!
Next week is sensory room or playing in spaghetti and beans! So we'll see how that goes 😬

Fisher price rainforest jumperoo

We introduced this at 11 weeks. I know this is before guidelines however Logan's leg and neck muscles are so advance. He only went in for about 5 minutes each time (3 times so far) but he absolutely loves it! When he figured the lights flashed when he moved and the noises happened when he bounced he was in his element. It is quite big but deffinately worth it even if you don't have much room. Luckily my house is a good size so it can be kept up. But it can be folded away if needed.
It deffinately wore him out extremely quickly to the point were he let himself get over tired before telling us he was tired which led to about an hour of screaming but he was ok about it :) I would deffinately recommend this product early as it encourages them to play with the toys which he started to do on his second time in it :)

Two month update!

This month Logan ended up in hospital with his reflux. He refused to eat because of it and had drank 2oz in 12 hours! The doctor sent us to the hospital were we were given ranitidine for him. We have to take this for a month and then review so update in my month three update! Logan is now giggling away and loves his play mat. He isn't too keen on tummy time which is weird considering how strong his head is. He is very difficult to get to sleep for his naps. Each nap usually includes from 10-30 minutes of crying and being rocked head in my chest holding his dummy in! Oh yeah he got his first dummy this week and it's been a god send! No more sucking my fingers. I will do a review on dummies as we have tried a few!

My postpartum -
This month I have almost fully healed. My belly is still tender but my episiotomy is looking good but scaring :(
I am still bleeding too which should stop soon!

One month update!

After a month of Logan being in my family I can honestly say having a baby isn't as easy as it looks but it is definitely rewarding! I have the most amazing little boy.
This month we got him registered! He keeps his eyes open constantly and so wide! He puts his weight on his legs already! He has bad constipation (which we tried many things for) and really bad reflux! We tried many things for this too but nothing really helped!

My postpartum

A couple of days after birth I was sent back to hospital as my blood levels were so low I almost had to have a transfusion. Instead I got away with 3 months of tablets which is worth it to be home healthy with my boy! My episiotomy opened up a little and is really painful! I was discharged from midwife care!
My midwife a were great!

Giving birth!

Well. Probably the most scariest day of my entire life.
I had to be induced immediately a day after my due date as I had been leaking for 4 days. I was induced at about 8pm at night.
I started getting contractions after an hour but the nurse kept telling me it was discomfort and it would g start working for 24 hours so I spent the night in agony. Tried everything to help myself. Tablets and a bath but nothing helped.
At 8am I was checked and was 3cm and was sent straight to delivery. I got to delivery and was in labor for 7 and 1/2 hours. I demanded an epidural which was put in wrong first! They were sure it was in properly but after half an hour of screaming in pain they believed me and did it again.
This time it definitely worked!
(I swore I wouldn't have one but trust me. It hurts!)
Then it was time to push and the baby's heart rate dropped. Suddenly a whole load of people came in including a baby doctor. It was so scary!
Was the baby ok? Am I?
After two FAILED ventouse and forceps (and an episiotomy) Logan was born healthy 😊

Health worries!

Every pregnancy is risky! However I have a heart problem (pulmonary valve stenosis) and a blood disorder (factor V Leiden) so I was so worried about the health of my baby! The hospitals put me under a consultant and we had a 20 week echo with a possibility of a c section birth. Luckily there was no defect with the baby and we never had to have the c section!

I'm pregnant!!!

The day I found out I was pregnant is one I remember vividly!
I thought I would do a test because all week I felt like I was about to come on my period constantly and I'm usually pretty accurate with the exact moment I'm about to come on (tmi) so I thought I would do a test just to check.
I went before work to do this in the toilets as I thought it was going to be negative and.....
PREGNANT 3+!!!
I couldn't believe it! I burst out crying! I was over the moon so I rang my fiancΓ© straight away to tell him as I wouldn't see him that night. We both just laughed!
We were so happy!
