A day at the Zoo!

For my birthday present Luke (My fiance and Logans Daddy) took me out to Chester Zoo, it is my absolute favorite zoo ever and I spend the whole day there ( on this occasion it shut whilst we were there)

All my photos are on my camera and for some reason i cant get them onto my phone so this is more of a photo diary for me so may be a little boring (sorry!)

This is Luke, he is Logans daddy and he was mainly the Logan carrier for this day, we had the pushchair but Logan did not want to be in it, so as my back was agony all day Luke got the job of carrying my 19lb 7oz little man around the whole zoo! (near enough)

Logan loved looking at the Lions, the female was pacing up and down (which always makes me sad as it is a behavior they express through boredom)

Me and my little man chilling in a palm tree :) (how is it possible to love someone this much?!)

As much as I hate that I have hamster cheeks on this photo, my god this boy looks adorable!

Everyone has to pose in the monkey leaf don't they.....

(i actually have a phot of my best friends little boy in this exact leaf many many years ago... its a tradition!)

Ahhhh... I let logan run off and get them little knees dirty, daddy got worried and had to go play with him to make sure he was ok... meanwhile... a pigeon was doing a nice hot poo on my leg AND in my hot chocolate at the bench!

I LOVE THIS PHOTO OF LUKE!!!!!!! I dont know if its my amazing photography skills and the amazing angle, but isnt it just the cutest?!

Waving at the camels..

Logan having fun on daddys shoulders why we were watching the camels and the donkeys in the background...

When you find a random old fashioned car you have to get in for a photo...

Hahaha... trying to take a photo of Logan infront of the Zebras but he was too interested in looking at them... cheeky monkey!

This photo looks so cute and innocent... here is Logan looking at the painted dogs, fighting over something, little does he know they were ripping apart some large animal that was probably alive ten minutes earlier...

oh look... you can see the poor animals left overs on the floor...

We took photos on the rangers car too!

And Logan LOVED the Meerkats... these ones are fake...

These ones are not...

I had the best day ever... I could go to a zoo every single day with my boy and never get bored, I love how much he loves animals and hope that when he grows up he will be some sort of animal freak like his mummy :)

Thanks for looking if you got to the end!!!

A day at the farm for my birthday!

A Day At The Farm

So for my birthday I decided to do what I love most and go spend it with animals and not humans (haha except my favourite ones obviously)...

On my actual birthday me and Logan went to the farm with our besties Jade and Ethan. Ethan is a few weeks older than Ethan but they love to play together so we decided to enjoy the day as a little family :) (obviously that kind of family you would choose... not the ones you have by blood)

Heres a few pics from the Farm :) (Ash End Adventure Farm)

Ethan enjoying his hand :)

Logan loving the baby sheep (yes i know they're called lambs)

Stroking a horse! (bravest baby/toddler ever)

HORSE KISSESSSSS!!!

Logan absolutely loves the Donkeys, his favourtie teddy in the entire world is his donkey...

Clearly the Donkey loved him too....

The closest Ethan got to the horse (it tried to get closer)

Shetland Pony :)

More horse kisses... xxxxx

Logan - "stop kissing me"

Me and Logan on the swings :)

Jade and Ethan on the swings :)

Best Friends playing on the Tractor and in the dirt...

All in all we had such a fun day. The weather was perfect and the babies were so good... and there is just something satisfying about boys getting dirty :)

Getting rid of the dummy! Ups and downs!

I thought I would do a blog whilst we're getting rid of the dummy!!!

After 11 months of constant wake ups it's about time to get rid of it so there's no waking up for it. (Wish me luck! Even thought by the time I post this I hope we're dummy free!)

Health visitors advice - take away the dummy at nap times in the day first. It will be hell and you need to be strong in yourself to do it and have a good support system to have someone to coach you along if your funding it hard! (Firstly. I'm not strong lol and secondly were is this support system!!)

DAY 1-

Attempt 1- first nap of the day. 9.00am exactly. So off we go. We're lying on the sofa as usual. And instantly Logan's searching for him dummy. Screaming away.

9.10am. Still screaming. The occasional "mums killing me" scream added in. (I'm waiting for social services to come knocking) Eyes closed now and everytime I move his mouth is hunting for his dummy.

9.11am. Drifted into sleep then attempted sucking his dummy. There isn't one. So screaming again.

9.12am. Asleep yay!

10.00am awake and wanting dummy (if dummy was given hed of gone back to sleep) but no dummy so crying instead

13.45. Nap two time. Crying and searching for his dummy

13.50. Stops crying and starts babbling to himself.

13.53. Asleep :)

15.41  awake. He woke up a couple of times but I held his hand and he stayed asleep (just cut my hand off for bed shall I and were sorted?!)

I couldn't record the exact times as I fell asleep too! Oooopsiiii

Bedtime is creeping up now and I'm getting nervous (ahhhhh) were going cold turkey and I'm going to not let him have it (I hope)!

19.45 bedtime.

20.07 searching for something to suck. No crying yet. Just babbling and constantly getting up

20.30. Finally starting to drift off. Keeps smacking his lips then cries for his dummy.

(It seems scratching is settling him, slightly annoying as I don't want him scratching himself all night, but I do remember when he was a new born and didn't have a dummy he would constantly scratch. Like even me! He would scratch my hands etc and it seemed to settle him)

20.35 Asleep :)

9.35 wakes up looks around goes back to sleep (not looking forward to tonight. We usually have 4-6 wake ups)

NEXT DAY!

6.15am. Logan is still asleep (hehe)

6.26am. Logan wakes up for the first time!

A whole night!! No dummy!!! No wake ups!!!

9.00am. Nap time. Crying looking for dummy.

9.07am asleep :)

10.00 awake

(Mini nap in the car whilst out)

15.27 Nap time

(Pretty awful scream and dummy hunt for about 30 seconds)

15.32. Asleep

20.06. Bedtime

(Babbling away, rolling around with his donkey laughing)

20.27. Asleep. No crying for dummy :)

2.45 I fall over going for a wee and woke him up. But he went back down ok with a sip of water (we're also dropping night feeds in this)

5.10am wake up :(

7.00am nap time - no crying for dummy
7.10 asleep (woken up by dad at 7.30)

3.30 nap time no crying for dummy
5.10 wake up

8.05 bedtime

No crying. Chatting to himself.

8.14 asleep :)!

I cannot believe how easy it's been to be dummy free. I was expecting absolute hell! From listening to the health visitors and peoples failed attempts at getting rid of it I thought it would be impossible. But here we are :) and I am soooo proud of myself!!! (And Logan lol)

DAY 4! (There wasn't supposed to be a day 4)

I was hoping that was the end of my dummy journey. Until Logan woke at 1.30am last night and screamed mentally for 45 minutes. To the point he clearly wanted his dummy. Refused the bottle but was excited by the idea of sucking. It was heart breaking so. I caved. I'm so so so sad about it and so gutted. But i couldn't let him scream the way he was. I'm hoping it was just a little set back. And from now it will be back to the easy side of life!

(It was a little set back! He's asleep without it now)

Good luck to anyone trying it! And wish me luck for the rest of my journey.

Thanks for reading! Xxx

Hello Spring :)

What a beautiful start to spring we have had, the sun has been shining, the wind has been minimal, and my boy has been happy!

We had the most perfect weekend! The sun was out both days which meant fun with daddy in the garden before work and canal walks to feed the ducks!

Logan loves to walk at the canal. He will stand and throw the bread to the ducks himself! To have daddy with us was a bonus! He misses so many canal walks while he's working at weekends!

We had some amazing fun in the garden. Lukes dad has plastic grass so we got to roll around and play without getting muddy (and the sun makes the grass warm so that's a bonus)

Daddy tickles :) *heart eyes*

This kid is going to be a pro footballer. He already loves running around kicking it and has a good throw too if he wants to be a goaly like daddy. Obviously this is daddy's dream. To have a son to teach football too. He got his dream and I'm so happy for that (although we would support other sports too lol)

I took Logan to the post office and on the way back a duck jumped out the water to us! He came right over to Logan and I think he wanted to eat his fingers!! Logan tried to grab him too which didn't help make his fingers look less yummy ha ha

I can't wait for next weekend to go to the zoo as a family!
